1. How does Pixie Toy Hire work?
We offer a total online experience. Simply select the toy(s) you want and for how long, add them to your cart, fill out some details with regards to delivery and payment, and we’ll deliver the toy(s) to you.

Alternatively, if you’re not happy giving your details on the internet, you can print the order form and post it to us or telephone your order through.

If you don’t want to pay delivery charges you can collect the toy(s) from us in Lower Hutt. You can also deal with us in person by phoning us from the start if you’d prefer.

Your child is welcome to try the toy before you take it home. Simply contact us to arrange a suitable time. We don’t have a retail outlet but we can have the toy(s) you are interested in available.


2. Can I extend my rental period?
Certainly, but we ask for as much notice as possible to avoid double booking.


3. What if my child doesn’t like the toy I’ve rented?
No problem. Just let us know and you can return the toy. We’ll give you a credit towards your next toy hire.


4. How much does delivery cost?
Delivery charges depend on the number and size of toys hired and the delivery address. We can offer a personal delivery service where we deliver the toy(s) and pick them up at the end of the hire or if you don't mind waiting a few days we can organise a courier service. Please contact us for more details.

Party hires will require pick up or our personal delivery service. If a trailer is required for us to deliver the toys this will be an extra charge.



5. When are deliveries made?
Delivery and return of toys is by individual arrangement. Alternatively, you are welcome to pick up your toy(s) from our home in Lower Hutt. When ordering online you will reach a tick box where you are asked if you would like the toy(s) delivered. If you do not wish to have the toys delivered we will contact you to arrange a suitable time for collection.


6. There is a particular toy I want to hire but you don’t currently offer it.
Please contact us. If we think others will be interested in hiring the toy we may be able to get it in.


7. Do you put together packages for birthdays, etc?
We sure do. Select one of our packages, or we can tailor packages to your child’s age and gender, how many children will be attending and how much you want to spend. Alternatively you can simply select the toys you would like.


8. I would like to hire a toy for longer than a month
We can rent toys to you for as long as you’d like. Please contact us so we can tailor a price to the length of time you’d like the toy for.


9. What if I only want to hire a toy for a couple of days?
Sorry, our minimum hire period is seven days. However, if you are ordering a package for a party we have a special 3 day party rate.


10. Do you offer gift vouchers?
Sure. We think this is a great gift idea. Please refer to our toys page and you’ll see the option to purchase a gift voucher there.

11. Is there a bond and if so how much?
There is a $20 bond for 1-3 items hired and a $50 bond on 4 or more items hired. This will be refunded when the toy(s) are returned to us in a clean, undamaged condition. We may ask for a larger bond for long term rentals, or party packages.


12. What is suitable ID?
We ask that you give us either your drivers license, passport or birth certificate details.


13. Do you sterilise your toys?
Most definitely. All our toys are cleaned with an all natural, 100% biodegradable cleaner, followed by a steam clean. We do ask that toys are returned to us in a clean condition.


14. What if the toy I've ordered is broken or faulty?
All our toys are in excellent condition, however we do accept that from time to time there may be a fault with one of them. Please notify us immediately if you have any concerns. If the toy arrives broken or damaged we will investigate. If the toy is found to be faulty, we will offer to exchange the toy or give you a pro rata refund.
